The gliadin test, also known as a gliadin lab test, anti-gliadin antibody test, and a deamidated gliadin level test, measures gliadin IgA and IgA antibody levels in the blood.

Gliadin is a water-soluble protein that is found in different types of cereals in the diet. Gliadin is a component of gluten and, in the presence of acid, breaks down into deamidated gliadin. In certain people (e.g. celiac disease), gliadin can trigger the body to generate an immune response to gliadin, causing collateral damage to the lining of the intestines in the process.
